A REAL GENTLE GIANT
Search the Web for the Guinness Book and you probably
won't find anything about the book per se, but you will find several
sites about folks who are in it. Of these, the most interesting I found
was:

That's the official Web page of Robert Pershing Wadlow, who at 8'
11" was the tallest man who ever lived. The creators of this page--
folks affiliated with Wadlow's hometown of Alton, Illinois--deserve
credit for taking a serious and compassionate approach to a topic
that might easily lend itself to mockery or freak-show hucksterism:
Wadlow is presented as "a quiet young man who overcame a
unique handicap, and who was an inspiration to all of those that
knew him." Makes you think Alton would be a nice place to
relocate.
